The SUCA is a professional and non-profit non-governmental social organization voluntarily initiated by leading enterprises engaged in the manufacturing, transmission, content production, application and service all over the world of ultra-high-definition audio and video products.
To implement the requirements of documents such as the Ultra-High Definition Video Industry Development Action Plan (2019-2022) jointly issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Radio and Television Administration, and China Media Group, as well as the Several Measures of Shenzhen Municipality for Promoting the Application and Industrial Development of Ultra-High Definition Video (2019-2021), the Shenzhen 8K Ultra-High Definition Video Industry Alliance (abbreviated as SUCA) has been established. SUCA aims to guide and pool industrial resources, coordinate industrial development planning, and rely on the alliance to provide services including industry-academia-research cooperation, transformation of scientific and technological achievements, standard formulation and verification, performance and service quality monitoring, and industrial development research. These efforts are intended to promote the application and industrial development of ultra-high definition video in Shenzhen, enhance citizens' cultural and information consumption levels, and drive the transformation and upgrading of the electronic information industry.
The SUCA is a legal non-profit organization registered with the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Civil Affairs.
Currently, SUCA has 130+ member entities, including key enterprises, institutions, and research institutions/universities in Shenzhen covering all segments of the ultra-high definition industry chain such as front-end collection, video production, network transmission, and terminal presentation—such as Huawei, Tencent, Skyworth, TCL, Hisilicon, Konka, Topway, and the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology (SIAT). SUCA’s membership also includes some enterprises from Hong Kong and Taiwan. Meanwhile, the business of SUCA members extends overseas; for many terminal/cable enterprises, their overseas revenue accounts for more than 50% of their total revenue.
SUCA is divided into 5 working groups, whose member entities are mainly key domestic and foreign enterprises, institutions, and research institutions/universities in relevant fields. The 5 working groups are as follows:

· Content Production and Supply Working Group
· High-Speed Interface Content Protection Standard Working Group
The alliance has currently completed the formulation of the industrial standard for China's GPMI 1.0 technical protocol standard. It is now initiating the formulation of industrial standards for GPMI application products (televisions and set-top boxes), the formulation of GPMI 2.0 technical standards, and preparations for incorporating (GPMI) into international standards.
